Summary
This associate shall become an integral team member and lead the Mechanical and Controls Engineering and Design teams. |
Duties: |
Essential Functions and Responsibilities include the following. Other functions may be assigned.
•Proven experience with the design and engineering of HVAC air and water systems; specifically mechanical room layout, design and construction
•Conduct complete and accurate field work required for project design and implementation
•Proven experience with steam and process piping design
•Understanding of control sequences and system operation
•Responsible for developing engineering staff
•Manage project receipt from sales and turnover to operations
•Meets with contractors, owners and Brady sales and operations staff to define and develop project scope for proposed projects
•Able to troubleshoot and analyze existing HVAC systems and processes
•Responsible for timely completion of assigned projects and customer satisfaction
•Plans and analyzes assigned projects, establishes schedules and project parameters and sets procedures to accomplish system objectives, involving complex contracting applications
•Provides competent and professional support to internal and external customers including:
oProject Mangers
oMechanical Contractors
oSubcontractors
oSalespersons |

Qualifications
•Experience and knowledge in contracting processes
•Familiarity with the operation of energy management systems, HVAC systems, temperature controls, and process control systems
•Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws
•Assist with interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work
•Ability to read, analyze, and interprets plans, specifications, contract documents, control drawings, service bulletins, technical procedure manuals, equipment specifications, and governmental regulations
•Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals
•Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from top management, customers and service personnel
•Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
•Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mechanical and mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
•Ability to multi-task and manage critical deadlines
•Excellent oral and written communication skills required
•Field work will be required 20-30% of the time, within 3 hours of the Greensboro office; overnight travel is required on average 1-2 nights per month, depending on project volume.
Education and/or Experience
•Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering
•10+ years experience in the design of simple to complex HVAC solutions
•Advanced working knowledge of Windows, Microsoft products, Auto-cad, and load estimating software
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
•N.C. Licensed P.E. required
•LEED certified preferred
